NDIS Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology

If you have a disability and are on the NDIS, we can help you achieve the goals in your NDIS plan.

Our supportive, experienced team work closely with you to identify your needs and develop a program of supports that can help you live a healthier and more independent life.

The services we offer that might be covered in an NDIS plan include Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology and small group or private Pilates classes.

We can also work with other providers such as support coordinators, other allied health professionals and support workers to ensure you’re getting the right NDIS supports for your needs.


 

How Embody Movement can support you if you’re on the NDIS

Here at Embody Movement, we are experienced in supporting people with disability manage pain, move better, build strength and get around more independently.

NDIS Physiotherapist
Caloundra and Forest Glen

If you have a disability and have funding for Core Supports or Capacity Building Supports in your NDIS plan, you may be able to pay for an Embody Movement Physiotherapist with your plan funds.

Our Physiotherapists can help you with a range of NDIS related goals including becoming more active, participating in physical activities, building strength, improving coordination and balance and managing mobility challenges. We can also provide support and strategies for managing pain.

Embody Movement provides NDIS Physiotherapy to people across the Sunshine Coast from our accessible physio clinics in Currimundi (Caloundra) and Forest Glen.

What does NDIS Physiotherapy cover?

The support that we provide depends on your NDIS goals, personal circumstances and existing support network.

  • Hands on Physiotherapy through a variety of techniques such as manipulation, massage and joint mobilisation.

  • Physiotherapy assessments to look at how you move around the home and community in your daily life including general body functioning, muscle strength, joint movement, endurance, fitness and balance.

  • Recommendations to help you move around easier at home and in the community.

  • Program of home exercises to help you move better and build on your work with your Physio in our studio.

  • Prescribing mobility equipment to help you stand, walk or move around more easily or independently at home, school or in the community like a walking stick, specialised walking frame or wheelchair.

  • Report writing and assessments for inclusion in your first NDIS plan meeting or plan reassessment to ensure Physiotherapy related supports you need are included in your NDIS plan.

Exercise Physiology is all about using movement and exercise to help you manage existing conditions as well as become fitter and healthier.

Our approach to NDIS Exercise Physiology means exercises are tailored to improve your mobility, movement skills, muscle strength, flexibility and fitness to help you achieve your movement-related goals.

Embody Movement’s friendly, qualified and experience team offers NDIS Exercise Physiology from our Currimundi (Caloundra) and Forest Glen locations.

What does NDIS Exercise Physiology cover?

Embody Movement offers tailored physical activity programs designed to address the specific needs and goals of individuals with disability, promoting functional independence and well-being.

  • Exercise program connected to your goals whether it be increasing strength, flexibility or fitness or a functional goal of being able to get around more independently.

  • Individual or group exercise classes tailored to your needs.

  • Support for accessing sport or recreation opportunities in the community such as building strength and fitness to participate in team sports and PE lessons at school.

  • Gym programs to increase social participation, physical health and wellbeing.

  • Report writings and assessments with recommendations for your NDIS plan or plan reassessment meeting.

How to use your NDIS funds for Physiotherapy or Exercise Physiology with Embody Movement

You’ll need to be either plan managed or self manage your NDIS plan to use Embody Movement as we are an unregistered NDIS provider.

How your NDIS plan is managed is something you decide at your first NDIS plan meeting or a plan reassessment. There are three options: plan management, self-management or agency management. You can also ask to change the way your plan is managed at any time via a plan review.

Choosing plan or self-management gives you the freedom to choose your own providers and so you will be able you to work with Embody Movement as part of your plan. If you have any questions, give us a call. We are happy to help.
