About Ross

Ross relocated to the Sunshine Coast in 2014 from Adelaide, South Australia, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Human Movement Degree and a Master of Physiotherapy.

Prior to moving into Physiotherapy, Ross worked in the fitness industry for over 7 years as a personal trainer and group exercise instructor. It was during this time that Ross’ passion for fitness and furthering his knowledge of how to assist people achieve optimum function and recovery, led him to pursue a career as a physiotherapist. This learning process provided Ross with a strong and well rounded foundation in exercise prescription, allowing him to better understand what specific exercises are required for rehabilitation from injury.

During his time as a Physiotherapist, Ross has worked in both private practice and aged care. Within these areas, Ross has also had the privilege of presenting to Parkinson’s Queensland (Noosa Support Group) on two occasions, on the topics of Falls Prevention and the benefits of Nordic walking for early stage Parkinson’s Disease.

Ross is interested in furthering his knowledge in manual and manipulative therapy techniques and continuing to provide his patients with the best quality care.

You’ll find me in my spare time: Spending time with my family, usually at the beach. I also enjoy going for drives in the country, exploring new places and drinking good coffee!

My philosophy on Exercise Physiology: Our words are so important and have such an influence on how well someone can recover and succeed in their rehabilitation from injury. No matter the injury, when discussing with a patient their individual journey ahead in their road to recovery, it is imperative that a patient is encouraged and knows that with dedication, hard work, and consistency, they can achieve the goals that are set by themselves and the treating Physiotherapist.

Favourite place on the Sunshine Coast: Peregian Beach.

“Physiotherapy is not just about treating the symptoms but about seeing the person, restoring hope and improving their quality of life.” - Ross Drummond, Physiotherapist, Embody Movement
