We’re a finalist in the Sunshine Coast Business Awards!

Cue the celebrations! Embody Movement is thrilled to announce that we have been named a finalist in the 2023 Sunshine Coast Business Awards.

Entering the Sunshine Coast Business Awards has long been a dream of ours so we are beyond excited that we made it as a finalist the first time we entered.

Embody Movement Physiotherapy & Pilates is a finalist in the Health and Wellness category. The broad category covers “business engaged in the provision of health and/or wellbeing services to individuals and organisations, other than professional medical and dental services.”

Empowering people to improve their health

Rachel Morgan-Varlow, co-founder and Physiotherapist said being a finalist in the region’s most respected business awards recognised Embody Movement’s growth as a business and community.

“Embody has grown from a small one-person operation in 2015 to a team of Physiotherapists, Pilates instructors, Exercise Physiologists, other allied health practitioners and support staff. Along the way, we have remained true to our purpose of empowering people to improve their health through our knowledge, empathy and expertise.” Rachel said.

“Oliver and I are immensely proud of this accomplishment and are excited to share this journey with our dedicated team and the wonderful community that has supported us along the way.”

Record number of entries

Now in their 28th year, the Sunshine Coast Business Awards are the longest-established business awards on the Sunshine Coast.

Finalists were announced in an online stream by awards chair Jennifer Swaine and judging chair Bruce Williams on 21 September 2023. You can watch the live stream on the awards Facebook page. The Health and Wellness category is announced just before the 5-minute mark.

Judging Chair Bruce Williams said there was a record number of entries this year.

“We’ve seen a 20% increase across the board in not only the number of people beginning an entry but the number of people actually submitting an entry,” Bruce said.

Of the 250 applications received and judged, only 137 are going through to the finals with just seven businesses making the cut in the Health and Wellness category.

“Congratulations to every business that made the finals for this year,” Rachel said. “We couldn’t be happier to be recognised among the very best businesses on the Sunshine Coast. Thank you to all of our team and community for being a part of our success!”

“From the start, our intention was always to create a community around Embody Movement. Our vision was for a health hub where the best Physiotherapists and Health Professionals were nurtured, and where people can access a variety of allied health services, feel supported on their journey and experience connection with others.”

“Now as we grow, we not only focus on providing excellence in customer service, but on creating an amazing workplace for our team, ensuring that our staff are supported to provide the best quality service on the coast”.

Winners will be announced at the Gala Dinner on Saturday 12th November.
